If you are a third-country national, the route follows your profile: a highly qualified job offer points to the EU Blue Card, a company transfer to an intra-corporate permit, a capital commitment to investor residence, and joining family already here to reunification.

Matching yourself to the correct category early is what keeps a file moving. Most work-permit applications take around 2 to 3 months to process, and the EU Blue Card in particular is aimed at higher earners — the salary bar sits near €80,000 a year. Work Permits

EU Blue Card

The EU Blue Card is designed for highly qualified workers from outside the EU/EEA.

Salaried Worker Permit

For employees who do not meet EU Blue Card criteria, the standard salaried worker permit applies.

• Annual renewal initially, then multi-year permits

Intra-Corporate Transfer (ICT)

The ICT permit allows multinational companies to transfer key personnel to Luxembourg.

• For managers, specialists, and trainees
• Prior employment with the group required (3-12 months)
• Maximum duration: 3 years (managers/specialists), 1 year (trainees)

EU Citizens
